From basketball to Entertainment "The Transition"
As you know Giann have been dancing since he was a TODDLER !!! yes I can tell you as his Mom. I would enter him in Talent Shows, Fashion Shows etc... He danced to "Yeah" as Usher at a school Talent show and came in as First Place!!! It was awesome. That day when I seen him on stage I seen a STAR! I My plan was for him to be in the entertainment business . See; Gianni has been around the entertainment world since he was a baby , Living in New York I had him into many things and he was with me alot at work. I am a former fashion stylist and a fashion show coordinator . I catered to celebrities and models. I had great relationships and resources to get Gianni started in the entertainment, However at the age of 6 Gianni tells me he did not want to dance or sing . He said "Mom, I want to play basketball" As a mother I didn't want to force him to go on any auditions any longer or whatever he did not want to do. So I signed him up for a basketball league at the age of 6 at Kips Bay in Bronx ,New York. My Dad who also played basketball was a good friend to the basketball coordinator at the time. They played basketball together when they were young. ( I heard numerous times that my Dad was a very good player and he checked the Goat on the basketball court ,lol) So we signed him up and he played basketball ever since...
Gianni went to a school Holy Family where he played on the school team. He played very well and at a young age there were High school coaches watching him. I as a parent made a executive decision to change location. We then moved to the state of North Carolina , I mean I gave everything my Job my lifestyle... and I never would regret that. My parents were already living in North Carolina, Charlotte and fell in love with the city. We packed up and moved to Charlotte. I just felt like the way of living and the schools were much better than New York. I needed that change for my son. Gianni was in 7th grade as he played basketball in middle school and on to high school he played for 4 years. Now I don't know if we choose the right high school for him as far as basketball but im going to be honest , it was a rollercoaster dealing with his high school coach especially for this last 2 years . I mean horrible !I always tell my son even to this day "any situation in life will either Make You or Break You !" which one you want.? "YOU NEVER GIVE UP" ! "Keep Your Head Up Son !" I am a tough Love Mom. Well Gianni did take my advice , he is such a strong individual and very confident. The basketball thing didn't work out and I tell him well maybe God didn't intend for this to be your plan.,you walked through that route for a purpose , to build toughness to build character but I know that is not your purpose in Life to play ball your purpose here on earth is to entertain ! G is so talented I tell Ya! And he was accepted to a couple of schools for basketball because of his hard work on the basketball court did pay off !! He was to be on his way to a 2 year college, division 1 as I would communicate with one of the coaches with getting his school living situated .Then...Gianni comes home from AAU travel basketball team and says hes not going to school that he rather go to a prep school as his AAU coach convinced him. So long story short he instead goes on to prep school and had 3 injuries 2 of a broken foot to the same bone. It's a wrap son as I told him and he agreed!
So today Im so proud of G he is currently taking school courses and working and staying in shape. Gianni is now official a Actor and and a Fashion Model! (yassssssssss lol.) He is walking runways and acting, as we are to venture into new and great opportunities . God is so good and I tell not just my son but every young person. never give up, and if something just dont work for you, never force it just try something new that works! Work hard and believe ! " As long as you keep your head up to to the sky , you can win '! (Song Optimistic by Sounds of Blackness)
